Manuel Bremer is professor without tenure [German "außerplanmäßiger Professor"] at the University of Düsseldorf, teaching there since 2001. His studies at the Universities of Cologne and Hagen included philosophy, linguistics and computer science. His degrees include a Master of Arts, a PhD and a post-doctoral thesis [German "Habilitation"]. He also worked for some years as a software engineer and computer science teacher.
